Where the Map Ends

How to Step Into the Unknown and Find Your Way Back to Yourself

About The Book

There comes a point in your life when the map you've been following no longer works.

Something in your life ends––a relationship, a season, a job, a belief, a way of thinking––either by choice or unexpectedly.

Or maybe you realize you're not who you used to be.

Perhaps you've drifted away from yourself and who you truly are. Or perhaps you're becoming somebody new, but you need to get to know who you are now and reconnect with yourself.

However change enters your life, you're suddenly walking an unknown path.

How do you move forward when you're not yet sure where you're headed?

How do you orient when everything seems unfamiliar?

Even in the midst of uncertainty, you can move forward in your life as you figure things out, and become more deeply connected with yourself.

And as you do, you can become more grounded in who you are so that no matter what life brings you, you can find your way.

A Way to Navigate Uncertainty and Return to Yourself

(That's Tangible for Your Real Daily Life)

Three transformations that emerge after reading this book...

1. You Will Become More Attuned to Your Own Heart's Rhythm and Guidance

I remember being in a really tough season of life, and my intuition was trying to tell me what I needed to do, but I wasn't able to hear the guidance of my own inner knowing. As I reconnected to myself and my vitality, I was able to notice when I was being guided by my heart in how I needed to care for myself and the actions I needed to take to move forward. Our hearts are speaking, but we need to be able to hear what's being offered.

2. You Will Have More Clarity on What Living a Life That's True to Yourself Looks Like for You

It's easy to tell when something is off in our lives, but often harder to know what would bring things back into alignment. It's kind of like putting on someone else's prescription glasses and immediately knowing they're not right for your eyes, but not knowing what prescription you need to see clearly. The more you know yourself, know what you need in each season, and learn to discern what resonates for you, the more you can make choices that reflect who you are and what you desire.

3. You Will Grow in Your Ability and Capacity to Navigate Uncertainty and Change Well

Our lives—internally and externally—are constantly shifting. So how do we move through life's thresholds well without feeling lost with every change? Research shows that an ability to accept uncertainty and be with whatever is present helps us move through transitions. But how do you do that? And when it comes time to make decisions, how do we know what choice to make? Where the Map Ends will guide you in the thinking, practices, and approach to moving through life's seasons from a grounded place.

Here's What It's All About

Why I'm Giving The Book Away at Cost...

(And no, it's not a gimmick. It's an invitation.)

Dear Fellow Human,

As humans, we’re not having a solely physical experience. We exist within a body, and we’re also more than our bodies.

We are conscious beings with desires, dreams, fears, and longings. Those inner parts of ourselves want to be seen, known, and expressed.

When we intentionally tend to our interior lives, this care and attention ripples into our external reality.

I believe every single one of us is meant to live a life where we feel alive and love waking up each morning.

We're not meant to pay bills and die.

We're here to enjoy life and the rich layers it has to offer, but our journeys never unfold in a straight line.

Sometimes, we veer off course, or find ourselves lost and unsure of how to find our way. We reach the end of the map and what lies ahead is the unknown.

Maybe something in your life is ending, and you feel uncertain about what's next.

Maybe you've become aware that things in your life don't feel aligned anymore.

Maybe you feel disconnected from yourself, and feel like you need to remember who you are again.

Or maybe you're aware that you're becoming a new version of yourself.

Part of the human journey is moving through recurring cycles of change, grief, and uncertainty. But we don't have to let the turbulent waters of life overturn us.

We can learn to navigate life's storms with more ease and confidence with each season, and as we change and grow into new versions of ourselves, we can be kind and curious as get to know ourselves again and again.

In early 2024, I experienced three major life events at once—the triple confluence, as I've come to call it.

As the dust settled, I realized I needed to start my life over, but I felt deeply disconnected from myself and had no idea where to begin.

As I found my way back to myself, I remembered all the things I'd learned throughout my life as an inner journeyer.

I came back to all that I’ve learned about how to navigate the unseen. I remembered and practiced how to build bridges in the daily moments of life between the inner and outer world.

I also wrote Where the Map Ends—the book I want to give you—where I wrote down how to tangibly work with your inner world to help you find your way.

So why am I selling this book at cost?

Actually, I'm "losing" money on each book, but I’m choosing to consciously give it away. But why?

There are two reasons.

First, I've spent over four decades learning the dance between the inner and outer world.

It’s one thing to talk about the idea of turning inward and living intentionally from a grounded place within, but how do you actually do that?

In the book, I share real world application of genuine practice from a life lived off the map.

I'm giving this book away because I want you to feel deeply connected to the aliveness in you and the path you’re choosing.

The second reason I'm giving this book away is because I know by supporting your journey and transformation, you may be someone who wants to dive deeper and be interested in other things I create that will support you further.

Like I said at the beginning of this letter, this isn't a gimmick, but an invitation.

This book is an invitation to explore my world and my work, while receiving support along the way.

Regardless of if we journey together beyond the book, I know it will help you gain more clarity on how to move forward and connect more deeply with yourself, and I can't wait to sit with you in its pages.

Sending love your way,

About the Author

Meet the Woman Building Bridges Between Invisible and Visible Realms

Shel Kim Rollison, also known as Our Daughter (우리 딸) with her music, is a writer, poet, musician, sound healer, gatherer, storyteller, and creative guide.

Her work explores the inner landscapes of being human and seeks to support the journey of healing the parts of ourselves that have become fragmented—deepening the connection between our inner and outer worlds to live deep, fully awake lives.

As a musician, Shel creates songs that serve as companions for life—offering comfort, reflection, presence, and encouragement through seasons of change, longing, healing, and becoming.

Her debut poetry collection, The Buried Stream, is an invitation to slow down and listen more deeply—to the body, the heart, the natural world, and the quiet wisdom moving beneath the surface of our lives.

Her deep vision is to create containers—through art and gatherings—for people to feel inspired and deeply connected to themselves, so that they can live from a place of presence, rootedness, and connection—with themselves, the people around them, and the natural world.

Her work is rooted in story, reflection, and lived experience—offering invitations to explore and discover what it means to find our way forward without losing ourselves along the journey.
